Founded in Determination, Brewed with Intent

Founded in 2011 by JR & Jen Heaps in Fawn Grove, PA.  South County Brewing began on a small 5-barrel brewing system & quickly made a name for itself in central PA with its popular small batch craft beers featuring hazy IPAs, pale ales, lagers and fruit-based kettle sours.  By 2018, the brewery had reached production capacity.

Sam and Kellee Terroso joined the South County ownership team in 2019 to provide a larger entrepreneurial base for the developing South County brand & footprint.  The unwavering support & demand from beer fans throughout the Mid-Atlantic created the dream of building the 29,000 sq ft flagship destination located in York, PA.  Since the York Township opening in 2022, the two existing locations have welcomed over 400,000 guests a year.

In early 2025, South County opened their 3^rd location in downtown Lancaster City.  Formerly the site of the iconic Pressroom on King St, the latest reimagined venue will bring the same dedication to quality, creativity, and local engagement to a broader audience.

South County has expanded their beer portfolio to further compliment their scratch kitchen offerings & distinctive spirits program.  Their retail distribution footprint continues to grow throughout Pennsylvania & Maryland with several hundred tavern customers.

Continued distribution & taproom expansion into the Philadelphia & Pittsburgh markets are a core mission in 2025.
