South County Brewing Company held an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 1, 2022 to celebrate the grand opening of their new flagship brewery located at 170 Crossway Drive in York, PA.

On hand to cut the ribbon and greet invited guests was the ownership team of Sam and Kellee Terroso and JR and Jen Heaps.  They were joined by PA State Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill, PA State Representative Mike Jones, York Township commissioners and administrative staff, and multiple construction partners.  Representatives from Traditions Bank, the York County Economic Alliance, and the Lancaster EDC were also in attendance to celebrate the completion of their support.  More than 200 family, friends, media, and long-standing retail partners also enjoyed the unveiling and the festivities.  Guests were able to sample appetizers and artisan pizza crafted by South County’s talented and experienced kitchen.

At the celebration, guests toured the new facility and learned about the best-in-class brewing, canning, and distilling equipment that highlight the new flagship location.  South County expects to begin distilling operations with their Vendome Copper still in the coming months.

The new location was developed to create an experience where the unique setting, culinary offerings, and beverage options including a PA-based cocktail /wine menu could match the reputation of high-quality beer that has created a loyal fan following over the past decade. The menu offers fresh locally sourced American pub fare and artisan baked goods, which are prepared and baked daily in the Woodstone fire-deck oven.

A beautifully handcrafted 28,000 square foot building on 13 acres makes up the new campus featuring Douglas fir timber frame construction. The inside space is comprised of a production area, casual dining hall, loft, and event/performance space known as “The Virgil Room.” Private event spaces will be available for a variety of sized groups and functions. Outside is a stunning timber framed patio complete with bar, stone fireplace and (future) firepits, offering a relaxing atmosphere and sunset views. The outdoor spaces will open for enjoyment next month.

South County is pleased to open its doors to the public for lunch, dinner and full bar service starting April 13, 2022, at 11:00 am. Reservations for dining table service are highly recommended and can be made through the Tock reservations system.  Bar and communal table service is available by walk-in only.  In addition, a large selection of beer and new merchandise will be available for sale in the well-appointed retail area. The new brewery is conveniently located just off of Exit 14 (Leaders Heights) on I-83 and offers ample onsite parking.

About South County Brewing Company
Founded in 2011 by JR and Jen Heaps in Fawn Grove, PA on a 5-barrel brewing system, South County Brewing made a name for itself in central Pennsylvania with its popular small-batch craft beers featuring hazy IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and fruit-based kettle sours.  Since the beginning, the unwavering support and demand from beer fans throughout the Mid-Atlantic created the dream of building the destination reality now located in York Township.  Sam and Kellee Terroso joined the South County ownership team in 2019 to provide a larger entrepreneurial base for the well-developed South County brand.  Together, the two couples have worked extremely hard in challenging times to create a choice destination to further the South County experience.
